Let's Celebrate Mom!

From tea parties to T-bone steaks, Las Vegas restaurants have it covered for Mother’s Day. If you’re looking to share a nice meal with Mom, there are a plethora of options on and off the Strip -- and some of them are even free!

In addition to gourmet meals, consider buying Mom some tasty treats from one of our local retailers or perhaps a spa treatment. She deserves it.

Brunch and dinner options:

Moms eat for free this Mother’s Day at P.J. Clarke’s at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. The venue is known for its burgers and handcrafted cocktails. From 11 a. m. until closing, Moms can order anything on the menu up to $35 with the purchase of at least $35 in other food and beverages.

Child Focus hosts its annual Mother’s Day tea at Springs Preserve in the Crossroads Amphitheater from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Festivities include a silent auction, raffle and activities for kids, plus nibbles from Springs Cafe by Wolfgang Puck and, of course, tea. Tickets are $80, children under 12 are $40, and full tables and sponsorships are available. For more information or to donate to the silent auction, call 702-436-1624.

Eastside Cannery is offering a Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch with a view to remember. Moms enjoy the view from the One Six Sky Lounge, plus menu items like omelets prepared to order, Eggs Benedict, rosemary-crusted prime rib, seafood, salads, and desserts (cookies, tarts, creme brulee, tiramisu, warm bread pudding with rum sauce and three layer cakes). Champagne, Bloody Marys and non-alcoholic beverages are included. Seatings are from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Brunch is $29.99, with children under 10 half price. Reservations are suggested by calling 702-856-5566.

For the mom who likes lots of options, there’s The Buffet at Bellagio featuring a Mother’s Day menu from May 6 to 8. The buffet features grilled lamb T-Bones at the teppan station, Kobe top round at the rotisserie station, grilled swordfish and roasted bluenose at the hot seafood station and lobster ravioli with saffron cream at the pasta station, in addition to the traditional offerings. The menu is from 3 to 10 p.m. on Friday for $44.95; Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $32.95, and $38.95 with champagne; and 3 to 10 p.m. for $44.95.

Enjoy Mother’s Day Brunch atop Mt. Charleston at The Resort on Mt. Charleston. The menu includes ham, breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, mini pancakes, omelet station, bacon, sausage, mixed veggies, prime rib, chicken, jasmine rice, salad bar, fresh fruit, assorted muffins and scones, chocolate fountain station and many desserts. The price is $17.95 for adults and $7.95 for children.

Other ways to pamper Mom:

Aria is hosting an event at Radiance, the Roberto Coin Jewelry showcase, over Mother’s Day weekend. From 10 a.m. to midnight today through Sunday, guests can enjoy a day of shopping and champagne while browsing through the latest collections, including the Diamond Fashion Jewelry by Roberto Coin.

For the chocolate-loving mom, try the Sugar Factory Chocolate Bucket, for $69, filled with items like chocolate bars, classic chocolate cookie dough bites, Whoppers and a Charleston Chew. The Sugar Mama Basket, at $119, is filled with fudge-dipped Oreos, Sugar Factory chocolate bars, a pink Sugar Factory T-shirt and a Sugar Factory Couture Pop. Sugar Factory outlets are located at Paris, Planet Hollywood and Mirage.

Tivoli Village invites families to spend Mother’s Day weekend at the newly opened shopping and dining destination. Through Sunday, Tivoli offers a Farmer’s and Artisan Market, entertainment, musical guests and children’s activities.

Cinco De Mayo In Las Vegas!

While there’s always a party happening in Vegas, Cinco de Mayo is one of those holidays that brings out the best partier in all of us. From a multitude of drink specials to festive music, food and fun—Vegas has you covered for May 5.

Here are some of the best parties happening in Las Vegas that weekend.

Tacos and Tequila offers a sizzling Cinco de Mayo fiesta with the cast of Fantasy. Starting at 7 p.m., DJ Larry Lynx will entertain the crowd, along with a few of Fantasy’s hottest dancers to spice up the party. Grab a “Seis y Seis” package with six tacos and six bottles of beer for $29. Earlier in the day, enjoy a mariachi brunch from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., featuring T&T’s signature bloody Maria’s.

Señor Frog’s at TI opens this Cinco de Mayo with a big kick-off party. Starting at 11 a.m., the crazy, “anything goes” environment will be a fiesta, both inside and on the patio overlooking the Las Vegas Strip. Though we won’t give too much away, rumor has it, bikini contests, karaoke and conga lines are all part of the fun.

Rhumbar at The Mirage is spicing up Cinco de Mayo with an all-day party on the patio—featuring hookahs, DJs, drink specials and more. Hookahs are available for $30 or an unlimited refill option for $65.

El Segundo Sol at the Fashion Show Mall is right on the Las Vegas Strip. With that vibrant energy, it’s hard to ever let the party stop — especially on Cinco de Mayo. The celebration features an all-day “Loco Hour,” with $3 shots, $5 tableside margaritas, a DJ and a live band. Oh, and don’t forget to give the prize wheel a spin.

Cinco de Mayo is a major holiday and we feel Border Grill has the right idea by stretching it into a three-day event. The restaurant at Mandalay Bay will be offering drink specials like $5 Patron margaritas, $29 buckets of Corona and Patron and lots of prizes.

Cabo Wabo at Planet Hollywood always has a party happening and Cinco de Mayo is no exception. The restaurant has a huge patio, accessible from the Las Vegas Strip sidewalk. Share your $15 pitcher or $25 bucket of beer and Mexican fare with your new found friends at the fiesta. The party starts at 11 a.m.

You don’t automatically think PBR when you think of Cinco de Mayo, but with $5 small plates and drink specials, you may change your mind. PBR Rock Bar & Grill at the Miracle Mile shops in Planet Hollywood will be serving $5 small plates all day long. Choose from options like BBQ potato chip nachos, queso con carne dip and chicken cheese enchiladas.  Additionally, the 2-for-1 well drinks and $3 draft beers are a good deal.
